According to The Delta Society, a non-profit organization which aims at improving human health through service and therapy animals, The Fair Housing Act can protect individuals with disabilities with regards to service animals. Many landlords, property manager, and tenants often have questions about "no-pets" policy when a potential tenant has a disability and requires a service animal for daily living. Legally speaking, The Fair Housing Act requires public and private housing providers to make adjustments to policies which prohibit individuals with disabilities to have an animal in housing. Denying a person with a disability the right to have a service animal in housing can be considered discriminatory.
