Top Dogs, Cody & Havana, exploring Asheville, NC.
This past weekend Cody & Havana traveled to Asheville, North Carolina for an
outdoor getaway and loved every minute of it.
According to bringfido.com, Asheville, NC is one of the top pet friendly destinations in the US, so you know Cody & Havana weren't going to be left behind! We stayed in a cozy cottage on 3 acres a few miles outside Ashville, with views of 3 mountain ranges. Our Saturday started by driving into downtown Asheville and visiting their favorite pet boutique, Three Dog Bakery — the original pet bakery. Filled with display cases of freshly made treats, high end dog collars, and enough crew toys to make even the best dog whine for more, the store made Cody & Havana feel as if they were in doggy-heaven.
Shortly after we filled their bellies, we went for a ride on the famous Blue Ridge Barkway (ok, Blue Ridge Parkway) & found that all the trails were pet friendly! So, we headed to Craggy Gardens and hiked the Craggy Pinnacle to an elevation of 5892 feet!
Before you plan to hike with your dog, make sure you come prepared (visit us tomorrow for more detailed information). Feeling refreshed after the nice climb to the mountain peak, we headed back to the cabin for some needed R&R.
While we were all dissapointed our trip ended on Sunday, we promise to make our way back to Asheville and take in some more pet friendly activities, including Biltmore Estates!
